You don’t need to vacuum. You don’t need to clean out the junk drawer. You don’t need to be living in your forever home or in a house that looks like it belongs in a magazine.

Because I’m not there to capture perfection.

I’m there to photograph what life really feels like in those early weeks, when everything is new and a little all over the place, when your days are shaped by feeds and cuddles and figuring it out as you go.

The sleepy feeds, the milk drunk cuddles, the in between moments that slowly become your new rhythm as a family.

This newborn session will feel like having a friend drop by with a camera

When I come over for a newborn session, it won’t feel formal or structured or like something you need to prepare for. It’ll feel like a friend dropping by with a camera, someone who’s happy to sit with you and meet you exactly where you’re at.

We’ll spend a slow, easy morning together, without rushing or trying to fit into a plan that doesn’t suit your baby. There’s time for feeds, for settling, for those little pauses that are just part of life right now.

You can stay in your pjs if that’s where you feel most comfortable, or change into your favourite outfit if that helps you feel a bit more like yourself again. Whatever makes you feel like you.

There’s nothing else you need to do. I’ll capture your morning as it unfolds, just as it is.

Your home is already enough just as it is right now

Lots of parents worry that their home isn’t photo worthy, and it’s something I hear all the time. The washing on the chair, the toys in the corner, the things that feel unfinished.

But what matters most isn’t how your home looks.

It’s how it feels.

It’s the couch where you’ve been curled up together, the bed where you’ve spent long nights getting to know your baby, the spaces that already hold so much of your story.

Melbourne inhome newborn photography is about capturing that feeling, the comfort of being in your own space, where everything is familiar and real.

Your whole family is part of this, just as your days actually look

right now

If you’ve got older kids at home, they’re always included in a way that reflects what life actually looks like for you right now. There’s no expectation for them to sit still or smile on cue or do anything that doesn’t feel right for them.

We let them take the lead, whether they’re full of energy and excitement or feeling a bit unsure and wanting to stay close to you. They can come and go, climb in for a cuddle, or head off to play when they’ve had enough.

It’s all part of it.

Because this is about your family as you are, not about creating something that feels staged or like someone else’s version of family life.

We let your morning unfold as it naturally does at home

There’s no pressure to have everything under control. No need to time feeds perfectly or hope your baby sleeps the whole way through.

Your baby can be unsettled, your toddler can be busy, your morning can feel a little unpredictable, and that’s completely okay.

We move with whatever is happening, making space for the real moments as they come, the quiet ones, the messy ones, the in between ones.

These are the moments that bring you straight back when you look at your photos later, the ones that remind you what this time really felt like.

This is about holding onto this season before it passes

These early weeks pass in a way that feels both slow and incredibly fast. One minute they’re tiny in your arms, and before you know it, they’ve outgrown the size 0000s and everything has shifted again.

Having these moments documented means you get to hold onto more than just how things looked. You get to remember how it felt to be right there in it.

The closeness, the tiredness, the love that fills your home in a way that’s hard to put into words.

That’s what Melbourne inhome newborn photography is really about.
