This season of family life won't last forever.

Melbourne in-home family photography.

This is Us

Here's the thing, family life can be messy, noisy, funny, sweet, and a little wild. It can be all of that within the same five minutes.

I won't tidy it up or pose you into something that doesn't feel like you. I'll photograph the way you love your people, just as you are.

When I visit you at home, it just feels like a friend popping over with a camera.

What your family session feels like

We follow your kids’ lead, whether they’re wild with energy or quietly hanging close to you. I’m not showing up with a shot list or trying to stage something that doesn’t feel like you.

I’ll guide you when you need it, offering suggestions, helping you settle in, giving the kids space to just be themselves. But I’m also watching for the little things that are completely unique to your family, the things your family does without even realising, the moments that make this chapter of life unmistakably yours.

And when you see them, you’ll think, That’s so us. I’m so glad we have that.

Where your story lives

There’s something really special about photographing your family in the place you actually live. The couch they climb on. The hallway they race down. The backyard where all the good stuff happens. These aren’t just backdrops, they’re part of your family’s story.

In-home sessions are easy, familiar, and honestly where kids (and parents) feel most comfortable. You don’t need a big, styled space. You don’t need to clean every corner. And you definitely don’t need to perform. Often, the images you end up loving the most are the ones you didn’t even realise were happening — because everyone was just being themselves.

Don't stress about what to wear

When you book, you’ll receive a welcome guide with simple styling advice to help you pull things together.

But truly, the most important thing is that what you wear feels like you as a family, not what you think you should wear for a photoshoot. When everyone’s comfortable and relaxed, that comes through. And those are the photos you’ll love most.

Warm colours always photograph beautifully, and if your kids want to wear their favourite gumboots, that’s perfect too.

I usually visit around 10 a.m. By then you’ve had your morning coffee, the kids have a tummy full of breakfast, and everyone has settled into the day.

In the morning there is often beautiful natural light filling your home, making it the perfect time for a relaxed, fun session.

I get it. I’m a mum too, and this is often the thing mums worry about most before a session. I’ve worked with hundreds of children over the years, both as a photographer and a primary school teacher, so trust me when I say I’ve seen it all. Shy kids, wild kids, clingy kids, energetic kids, and everything in between! The good news? Kids don’t need to sit still, smile on command, or perform for the camera.

I’m very relaxed, happy to go with the flow, and really good at winning kids over. It always comes together in the end.

A quick tidy of any obvious clutter is more than enough. We’ll only use a few pockets of your home where the light is lovely, so there’s no need for a deep clean.

And remember, I’m a mum too. I know exactly what life with little kids looks like, and your home doesn’t need to be perfect for beautiful photographs.

I promise I’m not looking at your laundry pile!

I’m a big animal lover, so it’s always a yes from me when it comes to including your furry family members.

Pets are family too, and I love capturing them as part of your story.
